You can delete your Jurnalr account and its associated data at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed. There are two ways to do it.
Option 1: In the App
If you still have Jurnalr installed, this is the fastest way:
- Open Jurnalr
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Option 2: Request by Email
If you no longer have the app installed, or prefer to request deletion this way, email us using the button below. Please include the email address associated with your Jurnalr account so we can locate it.
Email evan@sepa-rated.caIf your email client doesn't open automatically, send a message to evan@sepa-rated.ca with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and your account email address in the body.
What Gets Deleted
- Your Firebase account (email address, display name, authentication data)
- Your cloud backup, if you had turned it on, and all entries stored in Firestore under your account
- Cached AI insight results tied to your account
- Any other cloud data associated with your account
- Your posted Community Suggestions and votes — depending on the post, this means the post is removed entirely, or the text is kept but disconnected from your account (anonymized) so it's no longer attributable to you
What Isn't Affected
- Journal entries stored locally on your device are not touched by this request — they live in an encrypted database on your phone and are removed automatically when you uninstall the app, or you can delete them yourself from the History screen
- Google Play retains its own transaction records for any subscription you purchased, under Google's own policies — this is separate from your Jurnalr account and outside our control
- We keep no payment records of our own beyond purchase tokens (never your card details)
Timeline
Local data on your own device is removed immediately when you uninstall Jurnalr — that part doesn't depend on us at all.
